If you read it properly, you would note that I have an Australian father and have been living here for about 10 years now. When I was living in Montreal, I would travel to Australia once a year to see my family here so I have had lifelong ties to Australia. I am one of the many Australians with background from another country who contributes to make our society as multicultural and diverse as it is. I have been an Australian citizen from birth and have been raised to be proud of both my Canadian and Australian heritage as well as remembering that diversity is what makes the world more interesting. Being Australia is not about where you were born, where you grew up, it is about loving this country. 

You can go sit down now and finish your dinner with Tony Abbott. I think you two would get along great!
